Through the local church in Kenya, Bright Hope is helping to change the lives of children living in the Mathara Valley slum in Nairobi, Kenya, and when Justin and Meryl first came on board the “Feed Their Future” Campaign, their goal was support at least 1,400 students through this campaign.
As of today, 1400 children are supported for a year and almost $200,000 have been raised! We are blown away! BUT We are not stopping there! There are an estimated 600,000 people in the slums, with an estimated 300,000 children. When you buy Home Plate Cookies, 100% of the profits support orphans across the world through partnerships like Bright Hope. Through the Feed Their Future Campaign, your direct donation to Bright Hope and your purchase of yummy cookies means food and education for these children living in one of the oldest and largest slums in Nairobi.
The slum is only three square miles yet filled with abject poverty and the worst conditions imaginable….

For children that are born into this community, they are faced with a choice: go to school or spend their days scavenging and begging for food. But the local church, Mathare Community Outreach, runs four schools in the slum where children have the opportunity for healthy, bright futures.

By offering two meals a day while at school, a child does not need to choose between education and eating. Justin and Meryl wholeheartedly support this great work and want to ask you to also! Just $100 means food and education for a child for an entire year!
